Koh Samui, famous for its coconut palms, water falls and sandy beaches, has become one of Thailand's premier tourist destinations. Although a multitude of high-end resorts and restaurants have grown up in recent years, you will still find the secluded beaches and lush tropical setting so alluring to backpackers when they started to discover this island decades ago. Here in the south of Thailand there is an eternal summer, with temperatures between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius during the day, and slightly cooler at night, and not much humidity.
The hottest season is April and May. The monsoon season starts in November/December, with more frequent rain, but still enough sunshine to enjoy beach life and everything else Samui has to offer.
The island is easily accessible by train, bus or car from Bangkok by going to Surat Thani, and then by ferry directly to Samui. The ferry crossing takes approximately 90 minutes. You can also fly directly to Samui's private airport, operated by Bangkok Airways. Bangkok Airways has 15 flights daily from Bangkok to Samui. The flight takes approximately one hour. In addition there are daily flights to Samui from U-Ta-Pao airport just south of Pattaya, and from Phuket, Krabi, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Little Palace is located on the eastern coast of Samui, only 20 minutes by car from Samui Airport, at the southern tip of Samui's longest and most famous beach, Chaweng. We are a 200-300 meters walk away from the nearest beach, and a 5-minute tuk-tuk or motorcycle ride away from Chaweng center with the main beach and gay bars and cabaret venues.
